Keep Moving Forward

So I was fortunate enough to catch a sneak preview of Disney's Meet The Robinsons tonight.  I wasn't expecting much after the disappointment that was TMNT.  But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.  It's a real good, feel good family flick with plenty of adult humour that doesn't alienate children, a strong story with loads of engaging characters, a stellar Pixar-esque polish, and of course the valuable life lesson at the end.  The latter really hit close to home and after the week I've had, I really needed the gentle reminder -- Keep Moving Forward.  It's a good lesson.  Do yourself a favour, get in touch with your inner kid and see this movie pronto.

Goodbye, two thousand and sucks.  Hello, two double-O-seven.  Yes, much like the secret agent himself, I predict the coming year will be filled with intrigue, ingenuity, and charisma.  I'm not making any promises, but 2007 is looking quite promising.  And not a moment too soon.  It seems everyone I know couldn't wait for 2006 to just die already.

So the obligatory resolutions.  Well, I'm not going to eat better nor will I exercise more.  We all know I adore gluttony and sloth way too much to deny myself those sinful pleasures.  I'm not going to say I'll quit smoking... but only because I already have ;) nicotine-free for 9 months now.  No, my resolution is much simpler: I will make a consistently conscious effort to thoroughly engage myself in daily activities that bring me nothing but utter happiness.

Sounds selfish, doesn't it.  But it isn't about taking more than I need, it's about replenising what has long since drained itself from my soul.  Spending entire weekends watching DVD box sets of "life-altering" television shows from a decade ago will no longer be viewed as a waste of time.  It'll be comforting.  I want to I'm going to read more... like books... with words!  Yes, I'm going all out.  It'll be enlightening.  I plan to seek out good music and good movies and good internet viral videos before it's yesterday's news.  It'll be rewarding.  And of course, I can't forget my dark mistress.  Oh videogames, how I love you so.  I'm so sorry I've neglected you all these years.  It's time to give you the love and attention you've always deserved.  And that will be rejuvenating.  And if the culmunation of these minor events all mashed up over the days, weeks, and months to come make a more energetic and optimistic me... then I think the world at large will be better for it.

Oh yes... one last resolution:  I will (attempt to) blog more.  I won't do it every day.  Because if I say I would I'd be a liar.  And I'm not ready for that kind of commitment.  But I'll try to keep it interesting, mix it up, shake it around.  Haha... I'm sure this will be the obligatory resolution that is doomed to be broken.

The Evolution of Brilliance

Man, these SNL Digital Shorts just keep getting better and better!  [This post is for all the suckers stuck at work today (like me) and hella bored out of your skulls.  Don't worry... this dismal year is almost done.]  In the meanwhile until the clock strikes... enjoy the comedy goodness!

PS. Andy Samberg, will you marry me!?

... and now (because I can) for my London crew, Ghetto Basik.

Today marks:

Damn you, November! :)

Grand Theft Auto: Parody City

My everlasting love for all things videogame + lego related burns brighter than ever with this deliciously clever movie offered up by the good people over at Brick Flick.  Here's a hint... if you haven't already gotten it from the title!   [Kudos to 4CR for the find]

Too. freakin'. adorable.  And since we're on the GTA theme here, I've been wanting to post this clip for quite sometime now.  Damn you, Coca-Cola and your sugary sweet ways!  Now let's see Rockstar make THIS game.

Wii Details Finally Revealed

It's official.  The Nintendo Wii console will launch in North America on November 19, 2006 for $250(US) bundled with Wii Sports.  The Wii remote will be $40 and the nunchuck attachment $20.  Games will retail at roughly $60, with 25 first-party and third-party games available at launch, 30 by the end of the year, and roughly 30 virtual console games available at launch as well to download for between $5-10 each.

There are SOOO many other details, I just can't get to them all right now.  So for way more in-depth coverage than I could ever handle, check out these sites (for starters, I'll add more later):

But for now, I'll leave you with just a lil eye candy: The North American Box Art... mega.uber.head.explosions over here.  More from me on this, I swear it!

Pink is the new... Pink!

First this was announced back in July...

Now this was just announced for August...

What do I always say?!  Japan and Europe always get all the cool stuff.

UPDATE [08-22-06 @ 1:50 PM]:  Seems Sony over in Europe is crazy for this colour... cos they just announced this too.  Along with an array of white accessories, the new outfit will also come bundled with a special UMD pre-loaded with various media from the artist (who else!) Pink... and exclusive downloadable content after registering the product online to boot.

Do you hear that?!  Yep... that's the sound of my head... exploding... into a million pink pieces.  Man, all this talk about pink is making me want strawberry milk.

On Vox: Finally... a reason to love my PSP again

So this weekend, whilst killing time before meeting up with J, I managed to purchase a brand spanking new copy of Tekken: Dark Resurrection for the ridiculously low price of $29.66 (usually retails for $49.99).  God bless the stupid apathetic teenaged WalMart employee who forgot to take the sale price down from last week and then docked another $10 off the sale price instead of the original price as I'm sure his manager had really meant when she had to override the register.

Early last week, I stumbled upon 1UP's preview for Gangs of London.  This upcoming PSP title is loosely based on The Getaway series for PS2 which models its environments and game maps around real world streets and locales in London.  I've never really gotten into the franchise, but I still felt compelled to follow the link because of this feature.  *I'm determined to actually travel out there before the year is through.
